Wi’am concluded a training as part of its women’s empowerment program to help women attain their inheritance rights. The three-day training in Nablus included topics related to inheritance rights, women’s rights, gender, conflict resolution, advocacy and lobbying campaigns. The training was attended by 20 women from the surrounding areas who logged five hours of training each day, funded by MEPPI. The training concluded with an open discussion of Religious Rights and laws related to inheritance. The participants expressed how satisfied they were to discuss topics related to inheritance and women rights because of the urgent need to raise women’s awareness of all topics related to inheritance, particularly because this topic has social repercussions that influence women’s decisions and how they manage their responsibilities.
At the end of the training, the participants expressed their wish that such trainings be extended to other areas in Palestine.
مركز وئام ينهي دورة حول حق المراة في الميراث
ضمن مشروع تمكين المرأة للحصول على حقها في الميراث الممول من قبل الشراكة الأمريكية الشرق أوسطية و الذي ينفذه مركز وئام لحل النزاع تم اليوم إنهاء التدريب الذي استمر لمدة 3 أيام و بواقع 5 ساعات تدريبية يوميا حيث تم تنفيذ التدريب بالتعاون مع تلفزيون جاما في مدينة نابلس و بحضور حوالي 20 سيدة.
و تضمن التدريب موضوعات متعددة مثل حقوق المرأة و تمكينها، النوع الاجتماعي، حل النزاع و التفاوض و إدارة حملات الضغط و المناصرة
و اختتم التدريب بمناقشة الحقوق الدينية و القوانين المتعلقة بالميراث، و قد أبدت المشاركات ارتياحهن لطرح موضوع حقوق المرأة و الميراث حيث أن هناك حاجة ماسة لتعريفهن بكافة المواضيع المتعلقة بالميراث و خصوصا أن لهذا الموضوع تبعات اجتماعية تؤثر في قرار النساء و تعاملهن معه
و في نهاية التدريب أكدت السيدات على ضرورة تكرار مثل هذا النشاط في المواقع المختلفة
